Blush

I know most everyone agrees with me that the one downside of the cooler weather and changing of seasons is the disappearance of that glowing summer tan. Think on the bright side though people, now is the time to flush up your cheeks with pretty blushes as opposed to shades of browns! By this time of year no one really has that dark complexion anymore so stop faking it and play up the apples of your cheeks with some plums, pinks and berries! Much more attractive with your pretty pale skin than an orange glow! Here are some of my favorite blushes which all come in various shades and colors!

Don't let the liquid aspect of this tint scare you,.
It's easy to apple with the brush applicator
and with a makeup sponge or brush.

Love, Love, Love all of Tarte's cheek stains
However for this time of year Blushing Bride's deep plum shade is my favorite.
It is more of a gel and simple to directly apply to cheeks
or use a make up sponge (that is what I do).

YSL's Creme De Blush
an easy to use cream to powder blush in a soft rose.

And for the girls who just can't give up their bronzing just yet,
here is a small step.

Pretty golden Rosey glow in power form.

Happy Friday!

So the leaves are beginning to change and the temperature is starting to drop. Finally it is starting to feel like fall and Halloween is right around the corner, so exciting! Here are some pictures and links to ease you into this autumn weekend!

Very appropriate for the upcoming "holiday"

1) a bag of Hersey kisses
2) Nutter Butter mini cookies
3) Chocolate Chips
Use Peanut Butter or melted chocolate to
merge the cookies and kisses and chips together

Detox

So before the start of the holidays with their endless amount of mashed potatoes, cookies, and pumpkin spice/egg nog lattes, I decided that I am going to try Jillian Michaels detox drink thing. Now personally Jill is not a favorite of mine. True she was a former fatty and whipped her body into great shape but there is just something that I hate about her. Maybe it's because I'm not a fan of The Biggest Loser, but whatever it is I do not really like her. However her detox plan is kind of interesting to me. Here it is if you want to try it!

  • 60 ounces of distilled or pure mineral water (I'm just using tap)
  • Add a TBSP of sugar free pure cranberry juice (um forgot to get cranberry juice but my tea bag has cranberry in it!)
  • Add one Dandelion root tea bag (or the one I have with the cran in it)
  • Finally add two TBSP of lemon juice
  • Drink throughout the day along with eating healthy!

So this is suppose to help flush 5 lbs. of excess water weight if you drink it for seven days. I also just read that the dandelion root tea bag is extremely bitter and apparently "wreaks havoc on your intestines while it detoxifies your body" I'm now scared. I'll let you know how it works out!

Just a little pick me up on this mid week Wednesday!

Audrey Hepburn

Just through some sequins into your flowers vase!

Sparkles, Sparkles!

Love, Love, Love this outfit.
Especially the coat with the (ehem) faux fur collar!

Pretty pastel colored Macarons.

Rain

Red Hunter - Wellingtons
Original Tall $125
These are exactly what I want!!!!!

Today was the perfect morning to sleep in due to the dreary, drizzly weather outside. Though I was relieved to get that extra snooze time on my day off, I was also a little peeved since I planed on trying to get a lot of outdoor fall activities accomplished today. Well maybe not A lot of activities but I did want to take my dog for a colorful autumn walk. However recently my rainboots are starting to soak in water which is obviously not the point of them, so I am in need of a new pair and of course I have my eye on all the pricey ones. Personally I do not like the rain boots that have designs and polka dots on them because you're normally not wearing an outfit that matches the design on the boots, so just plain old solid colored boots are what is going to do it for me.

L.L. Bean Boots 8"
$89
Perfect for Rain and Snow.
A little preppy but also classic
not going to go out of style any time soon.

J. Crew Rainy Day Bow Ballet Flats
$58
Perfect if you're trying to avoid the clunky Rain Boot.
Cute for Spring!

Womens Authentic Original 2-Eye Boat Shoe
$75
Also pretty preppy but who wants to wear plastic rainboots come summer time?
These are much lighter.

Sparkles

So I used to think sparkly nails were for those 12 and under but I am currently loving all things sparkly. Who cares if New Years eve is not for a couple months, these sparkly nails are tempting me to go to the store and purchase a huge container of glitter! Personally I think that using neutral colors is much more grown up looking, however it is your own preference, below are a few of my favorites!

Tea Time!

So I know Royal Wedding Fever has been over for a little more than five months but I am currently loving all things English. The English seem so much classier and come on they get away with wearing the coolest hats. Their accents and the ability to always make time for tea (in my world it would be coffee but beggars can't be choosers) and all the fantastic history that they have accumulated over the past centuries, helllo Tudor family!! Anyway I think my halloween costume is going to be somewhat revolved around an english person (chap) so I'm gathering all the inspiration I can, cheers!

Tea Cups, of course!

Back Track

So, has anyone watched the new television show Pan Am? I am obsessed. Not only do I love the fact that with each new episode they journey to a colorful different country, but my absolute favorite aspect of this show is the fashion. From the main characters to the passengers, everyone is always dressed their best. There are no jeans, sweat pants, yoga pants or leggings. The women are garbed in dresses, gloves, pearls and hats along with a full face of makeup and the men are always in a suit. Apparently comfort has overtaken our generations take on fashion because most people I see about to embark on travel, including myself, are in our most comfortable swears and our cell phones in hand and earphones plugged in. How interesting how times have changed. This show just makes me want to live back then and embrace the full skirt and white glove fashion. Just kidding I don't think I could live back then because I could not handle the decades to come. Instead I wish people didn't dress like such slobs and instead took more pride in how the presented themselves. Some pics of early 60's fashion.
