This is a really adorable story of the Nativity that my friend shared last Christmas. It still puts a smile on my face, I hope it puts one on yours also!

I Want Me Some Snow!

Alright enough is enough! Don't get me wrong, I'm all for this balmy, warm, weather, I do love it!! But between November 20th - January 2 it needs to be cold. Not brutally, eyes tearing want to shiver up and die cold but at least cold enough to snow. Of course I'm in the holiday spirit and getting excited about Christmas cookies and 25 days of Chistmas but this 60 degree (ehem 74 degree on Monday) weather is making it feel not so much like the holidays. So for everyone else who is feeling this way or who may live below the Mason Dixon line or the Equator here are plenty of snowy pictures to help bring a mind set for a light snow storm!!

And With all this wanted to snow I will have a reasonto buy the adorable "Toggle Coat in Wool-Cashmere"from J. Crew

PS: To ALL weathermen, I am NOT asking for a blizzard like last Christmas. Not trying to be stuck in my house with all my christmas money for 5 plus days unable to go shopping. Just a light dusting would be nice 4 - 5 inches at most, Thanks!

Art Deco

The Roaring Twenties are definitely one of my favorite time periods. It was all glitz and glam from the buildings to the fashion. Everyone seemed to live in a dream that consisted of one huge party where all they did was dress up, drink and dance. Lucky for me shows like "Boardwalk Empire" has inspired a great deal of 1920's fashion into styles for today, she here are some options to dress like a Charleston Cutie!

Boston

Such a pretty day to be a tourist

This past weekend my friend and I traveled up to Merrimack College in Andover Massachusetts to visit my brother. It was also a great excuse to hop on the train and take a quick ride into Boston. We got to catch a hockey game, (Merrimack vs. Boston University) in which Merrimack won with a goal in overtime to win it, very exciting! My friend and I wandered around Boston acting like tourists, visiting historic points of interest, and eating gelato in the North End (Little Italy). And to top it off we got to relive college, hanging out with my brother and his friends in their dorm playing drinking games and crashing way later then I normally would. It was a fantastic weekend and I cannot wait to go back to visit, or possibly move to Bean town.

Winter Skin

So as much as I love this time of year, with the changing of the seasons and the holidays right around the corner, the cold weather leaves my skin dryer than a lake bed. However this past summer my mom introduced me to the best skin hydrator ever, Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula, Skin Therapy Oil. Not only does it smell like summer but it also does not leave your skin feeling like you were just slicked down with butter. Instead your skin gets a pretty sheen and bonus it helps even out skin tone and reduce the look of stretch marks (if you have any). It is plainly just the best and I plan on using it probably the rest of my life and recommend that every one else purchase a bottle or two. Trust me you will be hooked after using it just once.

$9.99 You can get it at any grocery store or drug store.

Blush

I know most everyone agrees with me that the one downside of the cooler weather and changing of seasons is the disappearance of that glowing summer tan. Think on the bright side though people, now is the time to flush up your cheeks with pretty blushes as opposed to shades of browns! By this time of year no one really has that dark complexion anymore so stop faking it and play up the apples of your cheeks with some plums, pinks and berries! Much more attractive with your pretty pale skin than an orange glow! Here are some of my favorite blushes which all come in various shades and colors!

Don't let the liquid aspect of this tint scare you,.
It's easy to apple with the brush applicator
and with a makeup sponge or brush.

Love, Love, Love all of Tarte's cheek stains
However for this time of year Blushing Bride's deep plum shade is my favorite.
It is more of a gel and simple to directly apply to cheeks
or use a make up sponge (that is what I do).

YSL's Creme De Blush
an easy to use cream to powder blush in a soft rose.

And for the girls who just can't give up their bronzing just yet,
here is a small step.
Stila Cheek Color Duo in Bronze/Rose.
Pretty golden Rosey glow in power form.

Happy Friday!

So the leaves are beginning to change and the temperature is starting to drop. Finally it is starting to feel like fall and Halloween is right around the corner, so exciting! Here are some pictures and links to ease you into this autumn weekend!

Very appropriate for the upcoming "holiday"

Such a cute idea!
Super easy to make

1) a bag of Hersey kisses
2) Nutter Butter mini cookies
3) Chocolate Chips

Detox

So before the start of the holidays with their endless amount of mashed potatoes, cookies, and pumpkin spice/egg nog lattes, I decided that I am going to try Jillian Michaels detox drink thing. Now personally Jill is not a favorite of mine. True she was a former fatty and whipped her body into great shape but there is just something that I hate about her. Maybe it's because I'm not a fan of The Biggest Loser, but whatever it is I do not really like her. However her detox plan is kind of interesting to me. Here it is if you want to try it!

  • 60 ounces of distilled or pure mineral water (I'm just using tap)
  • Add a TBSP of sugar free pure cranberry juice (um forgot to get cranberry juice but my tea bag has cranberry in it!)
  • Add one Dandelion root tea bag (or the one I have with the cran in it)
  • Finally add two TBSP of lemon juice
  • Drink throughout the day along with eating healthy!

So this is suppose to help flush 5 lbs. of excess water weight if you drink it for seven days. I also just read that the dandelion root tea bag is extremely bitter and apparently "wreaks havoc on your intestines while it detoxifies your body" I'm now scared. I'll let you know how it works out!
